TV news clippings claiming Government permission for Eid Prayers in mosques: True Facts

Two video clips of TV9 and Public TV news channels are being circulated on various Social media platforms with a claim that the government has granted permission for Prayers for Ramadan celebration in mosques relaxing the current Lockdown rules in Karnataka.

On verification, it is found that both these video clips are old one and not related to the current lockdown. Some miscreants seem to have downloaded the old videos on the internet and have cleverly masked the timestamp and are now circulating them on whatsapp which gives an impression that permission has been granted for namaaz in the present Ramadan celebration (14/05/021).

Conclusion:
On fact check, it is found that the videos being circulated are not contextually related to the current 2021 Ramadan. There are NO such relaxations and permissions granted by the Police or government authorities. People are advised to offer prayers in their homes and stay safe.

Hence it is requested not to share any unconfirmed videos about the corona and Police Department and other lockdown guidelines and its related matters without proper verification with the concerned authorities.
